Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu for children is a form of training suitable for children of all ages, and can be carried out without the use of excessive force or strength. This allows it to be a safe method of resolving fights in school, or in other circumstances in life. In the art of Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu, a child will learn to be able to stand up for him or herself, develop his own unique character, cultivate confidence, and build self-esteem, which allows positive interaction with his peers.
Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu not only concentrates on basic physical fitness and calisthenics, but it also enables a child to perform well mentally. It requires concentration, obedience, and an increased attention span, helping your child improve academically.
In Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu, children gain a sense of respect for their teacher and fellow peers, and generally do not resort to bullying or get involved in meaningless fights. This practice demands respect, loyalty, and gratitude, instilling discipline and responsibility. In the case of bullying, your child will have the tools and knowledge needed to defend himself and call for an authority figure. Most confrontations can be talked through, however, in situations where words are not enough, your child will be prepared.

Grappling or Jiu- Jitsu refers to techniques, maneuvers, and counters applied to an opponent in order to gain a physical advantage, such as improving relative position, escaping, submitting, or injury to the opponent. Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu is a general term that covers techniques used in many disciplines, styles and martial arts that are practiced both as combat sports and for self defense. Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu does not include striking or most commonly the use of weapons. However, some fighting styles or martial arts known especially for their grappling techniques teach tactics that include strikes and weapons either alongside grappling or combined with it. Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu techniques can be broadly subdivided into Clinch fighting; Takedowns and Throws; Submission holds and Pinning or Controlling Techniques; and Sweeps, Reversals, Turnovers, and Escapes.
